Our Mission
Promote self-reliance and resiliency to strengthen the military and its family members, support mission readiness, assist commanders in planning for and responding to fleet and family readiness needs, and facilitate building a strong community network of services through education and training, counseling and advocacy, community outreach and partnerships.
Work and Family Life (WFL)
Programs that directly support mission readiness by preparing service members and their families for the physical, emotional, interpersonal and logistical demands of the military lifestyle. Some of our programs and services include:

- Ombudsman Program
An Ombudsman is an official representative of the Commanding Officer and plays a vital role in maintaining current and accurate communication between the command and its family members. The Fleet and Family Support Center provides family support services, information/referral, and support to the Ombudsman Program. - Transition Assistance (TAP) -- FY26 TAP Schedule and FY27 TAP Schedule
Prepares Sailors and family members to be substantially better prepared for civilian life. Service members depart the military “career ready” with strategies that augment the job search process in today’s market. Pre-registration through your Career Command Counselor is required. - Deployment Readiness
Sessions available to help service members prepare for and thrive during deployment & homecoming periods, using practical and emotional means & methods. Return and reunion available on demand. - Emergency Response -- Learn more here at Ready Navy
Ready Navy is the Navy’s emergency preparedness program to ensure commands, Sailors, retirees, reservists, Department of War (DoW) employees, and their loved ones can be ready to meet crisis-related challenges. - Family Employment Readiness Program (FERP)

Counseling, Advocacy and Prevention (CAP)
Provides individual, group and family counseling, victim intervention and related prevention education and awareness programs about domestic and child abuse.

Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program (SAPR)
Provides sexual assault awareness and prevention education, victim advocacy, response coordination, case management and incident data collection to active-duty personnel, adult family members, and commands.

-Reporting options may vary from state to state - contact your local SARC for specifics
-Contacting a law enforcement agency or medical personnel may not allow the victim a choice of the reporting options

Integrated Primary Prevention
Promotes protective factors and reduces risk factors among individuals, within relationships, and within organizations, through policies, programs, and practices. Commander, Navy Installations Command’s (CNIC’s) Integrated Primary Prevention Workforce (IPPW) focuses on risk and protective factors that impact two or more harmful behaviors.
