This town is known as the town of the Cyclops because according to legend, the three large rock islands in the water were created by Polyphemus hurling rocks at the fleeing Ulysses in his ship. St. Giovanni Festival celebrates St. John the Baptist, the Patron Saint of Acitrezza. Don’t miss the exciting festivities in this fishing village where old Sicilian traditions come to life!
