Visit the archeological area of Siracusa, built on an ancient Greek settlement. We will see many sights including the Ear of Dionysius, Cordari Cave, the Greek-Roman Amphitheater, and the historic island of Ortigia. We will also see the cathedral built around a Greek structure, the Temple of Athena, and the mythological Fontana di Aretusa, a freshwater fountain that flows out of a cave towards the sea. If we time it right, we’ll get to watch the procession of Saint Lucy, the Patron Saint of Syracuse, which marks the beginning of the Christmas Festivities.
